◎简 介
为了和家人一同庆贺戴德节，广告贩子尼尔（史蒂夫·马丁 Steve Martin 饰）坐上了飞往芝加哥的飞机，在机场，一个名叫德尔（约翰·坎迪 John Candy 饰）的粗俗男人让他没法忍受，不幸的是，他们在飞机上竟邻接而坐。本以为忍过两个半小时的旅程便可逃诞生天，没想到狂风雪的袭来让飞机变动了航线。
在误打误撞当中，尼尔和德尔住进了同一个房间，屋漏偏逢连夜雨，小偷的造访又让他们丢掉了一切的产业，无法之下，两人只得搭火车回家。随着时候的流逝，尼尔发现德尔的本性并非概况上看起来的那般教人没法忍受，两人的关系也渐渐密切起来。可是，工作并没有就此竣事，在一次又一次的意外中，尼尔感觉家离自己越来越远。
