　　在一次办公室大停电以后，会计师大卫（葛雷哥莱毕克）发现自己精神模糊的走在纽约摩天大楼的楼梯间，几近不记得自己是谁、曾去过哪裡，更古怪的是，在这段时代，一个汉子自27楼坠落古怪身亡。今后以后，大卫所碰见的每一件事，似乎都和这个汉子之死有关，他的生命甚至遭到威胁。为了找出自己的实在身份，大卫乞助于私人侦察泰德（华特马殊），经过连续串怪异而吓人的履历后，大卫找到一个神经病医生，他帮助大卫回忆过往，可是也使大卫堕入万劫不复的噩梦傍边！大卫究竟是谁？是谁要致他于死地？动机又是为什麽呢？
