◎简　　介　
　　死去活来的嗜血僵尸如瘟疫般敏捷占据全城，全部城市在一夜之间成为僵尸之城。为了躲避僵尸的进犯，两个特种军队差人和一个交通记者以及他的女友，逃到了一个荒废的大型购物中心里。这四小我斯蒂芬（大卫·艾梅治 David Emge 饰）、彼得（肯·弗里 Ken Foree 饰）、罗杰（斯科特·H·雷宁格 Scott H. Reiniger 饰）以及法兰妮（盖伦·罗丝 Gaylen Ross 饰）使尽满身解数武装自己，尽一切能够抵抗凶残僵尸的攻击。但是他们的抵抗却不敌越来越多的僵尸，好景不长，僵尸蜂拥而至。落井下石的是，一大群车手也发现了这个出亡所。四人不单要躲避疯狂的僵尸，还要同凶残的劫匪匹敌。

◎幕后揭秘
　　1974年，乔治·A·罗梅罗应邀参观了门罗维尔购物中心，除了明白到购物天堂的红火气象之外，罗梅罗还有幸一睹商场中的隐藏地区，一位朋友恶作剧说倘使有史无前例的突发事务，必定有人能在购物中心幸存下来，罗梅罗深受启发，很快起头动手本片剧本。虽然罗梅罗和建造人理查德·P·鲁宾斯坦没法在美国国内找到新片投资方，可意大利可骇片导演达里欧·阿基多无意间得知了本片的拍摄计划，作为《活死人之夜》的影迷和拥护者，阿基多迫切希望帮助筹拍这部典范可骇片的续集，他与罗梅罗和鲁宾斯坦会面商谈，提出用影片的拍摄经费调换国际刊行权。为了让罗梅罗在创作剧本时代更换心情，阿基多约请罗梅罗前往罗马，两人还在一路配合经营故工作节。在罗梅罗的争取下，影片得以在门罗维尔购物中心实地拍摄，并获得了公司老板的帮助。
　　本片于1977年11月13日在门罗维尔购物中心开拍，由于那时正值圣诞节前夜的购物旺季，所以影片拍摄只能在晚11点至翌日早7点之间停止。进入12月，剧组决议不再摘掉商场中的圣诞饰品，由于每次都需要花费大量时候。为避免遭到严重干扰，影片拍摄不能不停息三周。在此时代，罗梅罗剪辑了已完成的胶片。
　　任本片殊效化装师的汤姆·萨维尼曾效力于《活死人之夜》，作为小著名望的可骇片化装师，萨维尼在影片拍摄时代每周都要为近300位姑且演员上妆，萨维尼有8名助手，其中的约瑟夫·佩拉图在片中饰演了一位警官，并进而在僵尸三部曲的第三部《丧尸出笼》中领衔出演大反派。
