故事发生在悠远的未来时代，沙丹四世（何塞·费勒 José Ferrer 饰）是宇宙之王，他靠着自己的强权和武力控制着全部帝国。虽然手握大权，但沙丹四世还是没有平安感，他以为自己的表弟亚崔迪公爵（尤尔根·普洛斯诺 Jürgen Prochnow 饰）诡计谋权篡位，是以将他发配到了悠远的凯勒丹行星上。
沙丹四世对于亚崔迪公爵的迫害并没有停止，最初，公爵败北自杀，留下妻子和儿子保罗（凯尔·麦克拉克伦 Kyle MacLachlan 饰）流浪失所，两人逃到了广袤的沙漠当中，向当地的土著乞助。土著们将保罗当做了他们的救世主顶礼跪拜，保罗终极成为了土著魁首，并和名为佳妮（肖恩·杨 Sean Young 饰）确当地女子结为夫妻，但是，复仇的火焰从未在他的心中熄灭过。- Video
